4 Cowboys on Upcoming Contract Extension - Ben Grimaldi, Cowboys Wire
Here is a list of Cowboys who will be making money at the club soon.
taylor center ai
That deal may have to wait for the Cowboys to draft, but if the team thinks Biadasz is their answer at center, locking him to a long-term deal would be a good deal. Biadasz has been the starting center for the past two seasons and has continued to improve, firstprofessional bowl2022 as a downline replacement.
Biadasz has been an unsung hero on the offensive line for the past two seasons, starting every game, playing 2,268 snaps and not being sacked (by PFF). He was once considered the team's weak link, but the four-year veteran became a reliable part of the rebuild from the start.
The team has been looking for interior forwards in the draft, but Biadas' performance has made the center less necessary. The Cowboys are in good hands with Biadasz in the middle, and extending him now could make it clear that's their plan for the future.
QB Dak Prescott
(Video) Cowboys Report: Live News & Rumors + Q&A w/ Tom Downey (May 15th)By re-signing the quarterback now, the team can prevent Prescott from playing until 2024 in the final year of his contract, which would give him a head start in negotiations. The Cowboys cannot make Prescott a condition of their current contract, and waiting to sign him could cost the team valuable value. Dallas certainly doesn't want Prescott to play out the last year of his contract and go into free agency because top-tier quarterbacks are more expensive than teams are willing to pay.
The organization should also expectCincinnati BengalsRehired QB Joe Burrow, angels chargeExtensor QB Justin Herbert Oelbaltimore crows(Or another team) betting on quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Cowboys waited too long and saw their opponentsPhiladelphia EaglesExtend QB Jalen Hurts for a big deal and seesaints of new orleansBig payday for signing QB Derek Carr. Waiting until any other deal closes is risking the cost of keeping Prescott going.

Franchise quarterbacks aren't easy to come by, but the Cowboys have one, and he's still in the prime of his career. Getting a deal with Prescott now would be a good thing for the team and could save them money in the long run. The cost of a quarterback can never go down, it's always going up, and it's in the organization's best interest to extend Prescott this offseason.

Immerse yourself in the history of the Cowboys in the TE draft - Layten Praytor, Dallascowboys.com
The possibility of the Cowboys picking up a tight end with their No. 1 pick next Thursday has become a hot topic. However, here's a complete look at the history of the Cowboys' tight end options.
The Cowboys already have two young tight ends who had strong rookie seasons a year ago in fourth-round pick Jake Ferguson and UDFA Payton Hendershot. They could easily justify these two continuing to grow and prosper in the coming year. History will tell you that the Cowboys don't pick in the first round very often.
You have to go back to 1973 to find Billy Joe Dupree, one of two tight ends the Cowboys drafted in the first round, and David LaFleur in 1997. The two enjoyed wildly different levels of success, to be sure. The only other two notable tight ends the Cowboys have drafted in the first three rounds in the past 20 years? Jason Witten (3rd round) in 2003 and Martellus Bennett (2nd round) in 2008.
For those keeping score, these are the two tight ends selected in the first round in the franchise's 63-year history.
(Video) 1 dead, multiple injured in Dallas shootingIf you zoom in and look at first round picks since 2000, there have been enough success stories (Dallas Clarke, Karen Winslow, Vernon Davis, Greg Olsen to name a few). Then there are other players who have had solid careers and have proven to be very effective (Todd Shipp, Ben Watson, Heath Miller, etc.)
Now let's go back to the Cowboys' microscope. Mike McCarthy now manages the game alongside new offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, helping build his West Coast system, where the tight end can be invaluable in a program that relies on the passing game.
Cowboys 2023 Recruiting Report: Oklahoma WR Marvin Mims-David Howman, Blogging the Boys
Skinny Sooners Catcher Marvin Mims.
Running route:Mims is one of the best road racers in this draft. He is excellent at adjusting his line to the coverage he is facing, especially in zone coverage. Mims recognizes the concept of the zone and knows how to break your lines to fill in the gaps. He is especially good at winning vertical lanes, engaging defenders early in the lane before coming into play.
Hands:Mims have shaky hands and will sometimes miss passes or become a catcher, but usually catch the ball. His four knockouts in 2022 are the most in a single season, and he still has one of the lowest knockout rates in the country. His hands aren't as reliable as they should be, but that's rarely a problem.
Game Skills:He was a midfielder from start to finish. Despite the high number of targets, he has averaged over 20 yards per reception over the past two seasons. He specializes in deep passes, ranking fourth in receptions of 20 yards or more, averaging a whopping 34.9 yards of depth on target on long throws. Mims is not only a deep playmaker, but he is also especially good at extending the defense vertically.
(Video) Cowboys Rumors On Signing Robbie Gould, Michael Gallup, CeeDee Lamb And Dan Quinn’s Defense | Q&Arelease:The Oklahoma type of offense naturally offers its receivers plenty of free throw opportunities, and Mims' verticality only adds to that. There aren't many examples of him against media coverage, but he has the drive and the athleticism to win in many ways without being cast in a slot machine-only role.
After executing the capture:If not for its ability as a deep threat, Mims' Post Trouble ability would be its best feature. His opportunities are limited, as many of his targets appear on the field, but he is very skilled as a catch-and-runner. He averaged 8.1 yards per reception in 2022, second best in this class. This makes it a dangerous weapon in all respects, not just a deep threat type.
